Develop an in-house facility to manufacture yellow and blue sticky traps. Use non-toxic, pressure-sensitive adhesive for insect-catching surfaces. Ensure uniform coating without leakage, wrinkles, or dust contamination. Achieve consistent coating weight and proper adhesive tackiness. Reduce production cost and achieve high yield with minimal wastage.
Project Result:
Successful production of high-quality sticky insect traps meeting agricultural standards. Improved production efficiency and lower per-unit manufacturing cost compared to imports. Consistent coating quality ensured long shelf life and strong insect-catching performance. Client achieved a 50% reduction in procurement costs and became a local supplier to various agri-input dealers. Continuous, reliable operation of Trasy Enterprises machinery since 2018 with minimal maintenance.
What we did:
Trasy Enterprises supplied a custom-designed Hot Melt Coating Line integrated with: Unwinder & Rewinder units with tension control. Slot Die Coating Head for precision coating of hot melt adhesive. Teflon-coated Glue Tank with temperature control and pump circulation. Cooling Section to ensure uniform adhesive spreading and tack development. Slitting & Sheeting Unit to convert coated rolls into trap sheets of various sizes. The system was optimized for coating SBS-based and rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesives on polyethylene and polypropylene films. The coating parameters and viscosity control were tuned for stable operation, achieving consistent coating thickness of 20–30 gsm.
Project Description
The project aimed to establish a production line for Sticky Insect Traps used in integrated pest management in agriculture. These traps are highly effective, non-toxic, and eco-friendly solutions to monitor and control flying insect pests in greenhouses, nurseries, and open-field crops. Agro Chem Industry, a leading distributor of pesticides and fertilisers, decided to diversify into manufacturing sticky traps to complement their product range and reduce dependence on imports. Trasy Enterprises designed and supplied a complete Hot Melt Coating Machine and related automation systems for coating adhesive layers onto coloured plastic film substrates, followed by slitting and sheet cutting operations to produce ready-to-use insect traps.
